February 20th: Test of Strength: Fitness Apps vs. Personal Trainers

You can find anything and everything on the internet now a days. So why spend time at the gym when you can simply download a workout app and do it in the comfort of your own home? But does it work as well? Molly Wood wanted to test this and see if using a work out app is giving you as intense of a work out as a personal trainer would. What do you think? Watch what Molly thinks below.

English

For English class I have Ms. Hunter, she teaches most of our grade. Her website is full of helpful resources we can use to help us study, and check to make sure everything is being done correctly. It is extremely helpful and i'm so glad it is available for us to use. Here are some of her helpful websites!

Grading Policy For English I

 40% Formal Assessments
This includes tests and quizzes.
 40% Performance Based Assessments
This includes essays, projects, and presentations.
 10% Homework
I give homework for a reason—not to keep you busy or drive you crazy, but to reinforce and expand what we do in class.
 10% Informal Assessment
This portion of your grade covers class work and class participation.

Technology is used a lot in English! We use computers to practice for the PARCC test, to STAR test, and even to just write essays! Recently we had to do a PSA commercial on the computer. That was probably my favorite project we had to do! We made a poster, slide show and video all about how drinking and driving is a terrible thing to do!

We are currently in the process of reading Romeo and Juliet. It is really good so far, but I don't think anything will beat Speak. Even though it was the only book we read this year it is definitely one of my favorites.

February 12th: It’s Time To Rethink Our Smart Things

After announcing some new technology, someone would stand on stage and talk about how "smart" everything would soon become thanks to the Smart Appliance Framework. Soon, the television would be able to talk to the fridge which would then tell the washing machine to turn on. You would be able to connect your watch to the coffee machine and then send music from your lawnmower to a speaker in your pool. Because of this Smart Appliance your electronics could talk to each other, and you. Does that mean that your TV can see what you're doing or your Xbox can hear your conversations?

Do Now: Educational Technology and Copyright Law

So many people have gotten in-trouble for copy right without even knowing they did it. All content is immediately copyrighted and does not require filling out any paperwork to show it is yours. Although you won't get in-trouble for taking a picture off of Google and using it in a project it is still considered copy right, since you are taking someone else's picture and using it as your own.

Welcome To My Blog!

Hi! My name is Arianna and i'm currently a freshman at WR Highschool. During the fall I play volleyball, which is probably my favorite sport to play, and in the spring i'm really looking forward to playing softball. If i'm not practicing for my sports i'm most likely sitting at home watching netflix, or going out with my friends. Since i'm an only child i really don't like staying home, because my mom works for most of the day.
In school, my least favorite subject is math. There is no doubt about it, I've never liked math and i never will. My favorite subjects are biology and english. In the future, I plan on applying to many different colleges such as: Rowan, Rutgers, Ramapo, Montclair, NYU, RISD and UCLA. It might sound weird that I would want to go to college in California, but I have a lot of family members there so it would be fun to spend a while with them. It would probably be my last option though. I am still deciding on what I want to major in, but I'm leaning towards fashion or photography.
That's me! Enjoy my blog! :)
